FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Subjects range from Maths, English, Science and 11 Plus. We would like to take the pressure away from parents by ensuring we take charge of their children’s education outside of School.

We have a maximum ratio of 3 students per tutor and never more. Our students are given individual personalised attention. Students’ books are marked every lesson and corrections are covered immediately without delay. Students learn effectively through understanding how to resolve their corrections and this is where we perform best. All our students are given new workbooks and test papers.

The sessions are for one hour. The total teaching time is one hour but we allow an extra few minutes at the beginning. This extra time gives the student the opportunity to check their work and get feedback on completed previous tasks. We also use this time to mark homework, cover corrections and prepare students for new tasks.

All the tutors at Adnan Khan Tutoring are fully qualified tutors with security screenings and Working with Children Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks, as well as being members of the Global Professional Tutors Association Limited. Tutors are given tests to check subject knowledge as well as rigorous training whereby they follow our principles and methodologies very closely.

Other students and Tutors are present within our classrooms for added security measure. Student safety is of paramount importance and our tutors are trained to handle different situations. All the staff at Adnan Khan Tutoring have had Working with Children Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks.

Most of our classes are paper-based teaching, however, on the odd occasion students are on computers for tests and simulations, we provide a technology check at the beginning of each teaching session and our computers are always in good working order.

Tutors have marking guidelines that they have to follow as well as marking criteria for each individual work. Tutors mark while the student is present so the student can see where they went wrong and tutors will then show students how to work out corrections individually while they have their attention.

Children are given homework after each session. Homework accelerates the learning process and we only give as much as the student can cope.
